There are a number of common illnesses that may affect the bladder and/or bowel, such as Dementia,  as well as a number of other illnesses listed below.

Bladder

As well as urinary incontinence, there are a number of medical conditions that can affect the function of your bladder. Some of these conditions can manifest themselves in similar ways to incontinence, so it is important to seek help from your doctor or a continence advisor to identify the cause of your bladder problem.

 

Bowel

As well as constipation, diarrhoea, faecal incontinence and rectal prolapse, there are a number of medical conditions that can affect the function of your bowel. Some of these conditions can manifest themselves in similar ways to constipation and incontinence, so it is important to seek help from your doctor or a continence advisor to identify the cause of your bowel problem.
